Open QuickBooks and log in to your account.
Click on the "Reports" tab in the navigation menu on the left-hand side of the screen.
In the search bar at the top of the Reports page, type in "Journal" or "General Journal." QuickBooks will display a list of available journal-related reports. Select the report that best fits your needs. For example, you may choose the "General Ledger" report to view all journal entries for a specific account or the "Transaction Detail by Account" report to see journal entries by account and transaction type.
Another way to find a Journal Entry is to use the search bar at the top-right corner of the screen.
Type in keywords related to the journal entry you are trying to find. This could include the account name, transaction amount, or any other relevant details. As you type, QuickBooks will start suggesting results based on your input. Look through the suggestions and click on the one that matches your desired journal entry.
The last way we will show you is to look directly in the account register for the Journal Entry. Select the account and click on the Filter symbol.
Under "Transaction Type," select "Journal Entry'
Click "Apply." This will create a list of all of the Journal Entries in that account.
By following these methods, you should be able to easily locate a journal entry in QuickBooks. Whether you prefer using the search bar, reports feature, chart of accounts, or transaction list, QuickBooks provides multiple options to help you find the information you need.
