How to Indent Work Cited on Google Docs
Hanging indents are often used in APA and MLA formatted citations. Adding a hanging indent to your citation in Google Docs makes them easier to skim and read at a glance.

Start by selecting the citation that you would like to indent. Click three times rapidly to select the whole citation.

Next, click "Format" from the tool bar along the top of your window.

Select Align & indent from the drop-down menu. Here you'll see all of the standard alignment options.

To give your citations a proper hanging indent, you'll need to click Indentation options toward the bottom of the list.

Click on the options underneath Special indent.

Select "Hanging"

Finally, hit "Apply" to finalize the changes.
