    1
Sign in to your Google account and go to <https://docs.google.com/presentation>
    2
Open your Google Slides presentation or create a new one.
    3
Click the ”Insert" tab on the menu bar at the top.
    4
Click the “Shape” option in the menu.
    5
    Click or hover over “Shapes”
    6
You can select the shape you like the most. In this case, I selected the rectangle.
    7
Click and drag on your slide to create the shape you selected.
    8
By default, the shape will be gray. You can change its color by clicking the Fill color icon.
    9
Select the color you want as the background for your text. In this example, I selected light red.
    10
You can resize the shape and adjust its position according to your needs.
    11
    Here, your shape is formatted.
    12
Now, we need to add text. Click the "Insert" tab in the menu bar at the top.
    13
    Click the “Text box” option.
    14
Click and drag over the shape to create a text box inside of it.
    15
Type in your text. As of now, the text color is black in this example. We need to change it to make it transparent.
    16
Highlight the text in the text box.
    17
Look for the Text color icon. It may be under the three vertical dots in the toolbar.
    18
Click on the Text color icon.
    19
Here, you need to select the same color that you had chosen for the shape. In this example, I selected light red so I could just go ahead and click on that color. But you can also click on the “Pick a custom color” icon and then click on the shape. The custom color tool will apply the color to the text automatically.
