From your sidebar menu, open a DM with one of the person you want to include in the group
Click on their name at the top
Click "Add people to this conversation"
Type the names of the other Slack members you want to add to the group.
    Click "Next"
A group can hold a maximum of 9 people (including you). If you want to add more people, create a new channel and make it private
Be careful with the next step as it cannot be undone
Decide whether to include conversation history before adding new members. When you include the conversation history, all the previous messages will be moved to the group DM with the new members. \ If the group DM was created from an existing 1:1 DM, including the conversation history will transfer those messages to the new group DM.
    Click "Done"
You group DM is ready to be used
