How to Split a Fax Prior to Indexing a fax

Assume we are starting on the New Inbound Item Worklist where most faxes come into. 

Select the fax that needs splitting. In this example I have two patients on pages two and three and the first page is a fax cover sheet which you do not want to include.

Select "Actions" and a drop down options list appears.

Choose "Split" from the drop-down option.

You have an option to Archive, Delete or Do Nothing with the original fax that you are splitting. Best practice is to choose Archive.

Enter the page range for the first patient. In this example we will enter page two.

Click the "Add New Split" button for the second patient. 

Enter the number of the next page range. In this example we will use three.

Click "Split" at the bottom of the pop up. 

Your split is now complete and you can begin indexing each of the transactions. Your original document will be archived since we chose that at the beginning of the split. 

Each transaction will now have a separate tracking number as well.
