Before financial aid is disbursed, the University must be able to document that a student has begun attendance in the courses for which they will receive funds. We receive this information from faculty members after the add/drop period each semester. This process is called Confirmation of Academic Engagement (formerly Roster Verification). Visit the Office of Financial Aid's [Academic Engagement page](https://stockton.edu/financial-aid/academic-engagement.html) for more details on what constitutes Academic Engagement.
After the Add/Drop period ends, you will receive an email requesting student attendance verification. This email will come from the Office of Financial Aid or Office of the Provost (typically from one of these staff members: Chris Connors, or Dr. Ariane Newman).
Review the email for detailed guidance on what qualifies as active student participation.
At the bottom of the email, you'll find a link to the Ospreys Navigate System. Click the button labeled "Click to Begin Entering Student Feedback" to start the reporting process.
When you're redirected to your course rosters they will be organized by course and then in alphabetical order respectively. Mark currently attending students as **Active**. For students who stopped attending, enter their last date of attendance. Select **Never Attended** for enrolled students who haven't participated, and add any relevant comments. To save time, use the **Mark Remaining as Active** option at the bottom to automatically mark all unmarked students as active.
Once you are finished, click the **Submit** button. You will receive a pop-up message letting you know that you have successfully completed your feedback.
