    Navigate to [https://nmu.edu/sponsoredprograms/](https://nmu.edu/sponsoredprograms/)
    Click "Cayuse"
    Click "ACCESS CAYUSE"
    Enter your single sign-on information, and click "LOGIN"
    Click Products"
    Click "Sponsored Projects"
    Click "Start New Proposal"
    Click "This proposal is not related to any existing proposals or awards (Create New Project)"
    Enter a title.\ ***NOTE: This is not the official title; it is just for you to find it in Cayuse. We recommend using the title of the award and your last name.***
    Click "Create New Project"
    Don't worry about "Proposal Summary" - you can't enter data here, and it is for external grant applications.
    You will need to answer questions in all Proposal Sections, starting with Preliminary Information.
    Click "Internal NMU Award"\ ***NOTE: red asterisks denote questions you are required to answer.***
    Click "Student Award"
    Click in the "NMU Student Award Program" field and select your program.
    When you answered all required questions in a section, the red circle with the number of yet-unanswered questions turns to a green check mark. It is complete. Click on the next section.
    In the General Information section, answer questions, select dates, and enter your official project title.
    In the Personnel section, read the instructions carefully.
    Start typing your name, and Cayuse will provide it in a drop-down. Click on it.
    Click on "Role" field and ***be sure to select "Principal Investigator"***
