Check for Windows Updates

**Click** "*Start*" menu

**Type** "*updates*" in the '*search for apps, settings, and documents*' field.
**Click** "*Check for updates*"

**Click** "*Check for updates*"

**Click** "*Install all*" to install necessary updates.
**You may be asked to restart your computer (1 or multiple times) during the process.**
If you are asked: **Click** "*Restart*" once all the available downloads that can be installed are installed and ready for a restart.
Upon restarting: **start over at step #1** to confirm all updates are installed, then **repeat steps #1** *thru* **#4 until all updates** are **completed**.
Optional Windows Updates

**Follow these steps at your own risk**; *if you have any doubts about any optional updates, contact your IT Support team* prior to triggering optional updates.

From the 'Windows Update' section, **Click** "*Advanced options '>*' symbol"

**Click** "*Optional updates* '>' symbol"

**Click** "*Driver updates*" dropdown

**Review** list of *updates* to see if any of them could pertain to an issue you are having.
**If you are NOT having issues, it's best NOT to install optional updates.** \
*"If it ain't broke, don't fix it."*

If you *Selected* any updates, **Click** "*Download & install*"

When all updates are installed, **close** the *window*.
