Look for the Google Apps icons at the top right corner of your browser
To access the Google Sheets application, simply click on the "Sheets" option
Open the specific Google Sheets document you wish to work with or select "Blank Spreadsheet" to create a new document
Click on the cell where you want the result of the formula to appear
Begin typing the formula `=COUNTIF(` into the selected cell A drop-down menu with available functions will appear. You can also select the"COUNTIF" option from here
Open a parenthesis and identify the range of cells you want to evaluate You can do this by clicking and dragging over the range or manually entering it
After specifying the range, type a comma to separate it from the criterion
Enter the condition you want to apply For text or specific values, enclose them in quotation marks (e.g., `"Chair"`). For numerical conditions, you can use comparison operators like `">50"` For this specific case we typed "Chair" as we want to count the amount of times the word "Chair" is in the chart
Close the parenthesis and press [[Enter]]
    Review the results
