How to Use Personal Access Token GitHub
You will no doubt need to set up a personal access token for GitHub at some point if you want remote access to your repositories hosted there. Fortunately, setting up this token is a simple process.

To get started, click on your profile icon in the upper right corner of the GitHub home page.

Next, open Settings.

Scroll down and look to the left for the Developer Settings. This is where we need to go to create an access token.

Click the Personal Access Tokens dropdown from the left.

Select the (classic) tokens for security and reliability.

Make the same selection on the Generate new token dropdown on the right.

Provide a note and set the expiration date to whichever you prefer. Set a shorter duration if you want to ensure better security.

Set additional scopes such as the repo and workflow. For now, we'll just set the scope to the repo.

When you are done making your selections, hit Generate Token. That is it!
