    How to Use Vacancy Data in BrightInvestor

    Search for your desired location in the "Enter Address, Zip Code, or City" field and press **Enter.**
    In **Step 1** of the sidebar that appears, select **Vacancy.**
    In **Step 2** of the sidebar, click **Latest Data** and press **Renter** to view rental vacancy.
    We want to see recent vacancy rates, so we'll keep the *Year* field at **2021\.**
    You can also change your *Data Boundary* from **Zip Code** to **City By Zip Code.** For this tutorial, select **City By Zip Code.**
    If all the filters fit your criteria, we're ready to view the data! Click **Generate Map.**
    On a green to red scale, the map is colored so you can easily find where vacancy rates are the lowest. **Hover** your mouse over the map to see the figures
    In **Step 3** of the sidebar, you can see the average *Rental Vacancy* for the city in that year.
    You can add the generated data as a **Layer.** This will allow you to stack data types on your map. Let's click that now.
    Enter your *Layer Name* and click **Save**
    You've finished finding the *Current* *Rental Vacancy*! Now press **Step 2** to find the *Change Over Time.*
    In **Step 2** of the sidebar, select the **Change Over Time** button.
    We'll keep viewing **Renters** as the *Type of Vacancy.*
    To get an better picture of the *Change Over Time,* we'll compare **2017** to **2021**.
    We'll keep viewing the *Data Boundary* with **City By Zip Code.** Let's **Generate the Map.**
    On a green to red scale, the map is colored so you can easily find how vacancy rates are changing. **Hover** your mouse over a zip code to view more details.
    In **Step 3** of the sidebar, a line graph illustrates the progression of vacancy rates for the city.
    That's it! You know how use Vacancy Data! You can now start a new data search to continue your market research.
