How to create a workflow in Asana

Start on your dashboard. To make a new project click the plus sign at the top, or Create a Project in the center of your screen.

If you're starting from scratch, click Blank project. You can also use a template or import a spreadsheet

select the layout you want (you can switch through each at anytime)

Give your project a name.

Click "Set Up Workflow"

Give your workflow stages based on the number of steps your project has.

Click "Create a template to easily standardize tasks"

This creates a template task that you can duplicate for every project.

Type "Template Task"

You can give the template task an automatic assignee, set due dates, and add a description that will describe the task.

You can also add the task to another project. Click "Add to projects"

Select from the dropdown.

Now that you have your template task, click "Next"

You can give each step a rule that will automatically trigger something every time a task enters that section. Click on a rule.
