    1
    Click "New Email"
    2
In the new email window you can type your email like you would normally. In this example, I am sending this to my personal Gmail account to demonstrate the experience of an external contact. NOTE: All of our email traffic is encrypted by default using TLS 1.2, encrypting the message with Outlook does add an extra layer of security to all email messages. You can encrypt a message the same way when sending internally, but the person you're emailing will not have to go through the extra steps to view the message that we'll see below.
    3
    4
    Fill in the "Subject"
    5
    Click "Options"
    6
    Click "Encrypt"
    7
    Click "Encrypt-Only"
    8
    Click "Send"
    9
These next steps are from the external contacts perspective. They would open the email.
    10
    Click "Read the message"
    11
Click "Sign in with a One-time passcode"
    12
    Click "One-time passcode"
    13
They will receive an email with their One Time Passcode.
    14
They would need to either copy and paste it or type it
    15
    Click "One-time passcode"
    16
    Click "Paste"
    17
    Click "Continue"
    18
Here's the encrypted message we sent earlier to our external contact.
