How to reuse and update Padlet boards between deliveries

At the start of each Block, unit convenors are responsible for ensuring all content and activities in the unit site are up to date—including any Padlets. Padlets should generally be updated within the delivery space, and there are three options to help you manage this with ease.

Option 1: Make a copy

This option involves creating a copy (or remake) of the Padlet board and embedding it in the HTML page. If you want a new Padlet for each block and allow previous students to access their work, it’s best to remake and embed a new one.

Go to the session page where the original Padlet board is embedded, click on the **arrow icon** to open the board.

Click **Remake** icon from the top right of your screen.

Fill in the details including the new board title.

Select relevant items under "What to copy".

(Optional) To copy all staff access from the original board to the new one, just toggle **Copy people and privacy**.

Once done, click **Remake**.

Next step involves replacing the old board with your freshly copied one.

Go to the session page, then click on the dropdown next to its title.

Click **Edit HTML**

Place your cursor between the text and the Padlet board. **Press Delete** on your keyboard until the Padlet is completely removed.

Option 2: Remove all posts

To reuse a Padlet board without past responses, you can delete all posts on the existing board. If you’d like to keep a record, save it as a PDF and upload it to the space.

To export the board as a PDF file, go to **Share** setting.

Click **Export as PDF.**

Click **Generate**.

Once the export is completed, click on the **three dots** for more options.

Click **Clear posts.**

A prompt appears confirming that you want to remove all posts. Click **Delete** to proceed.

**Final Tip!** Sometimes Padlets are used as ongoing idea banks or resource hubs. If you want to keep building on the same Padlet across Blocks, there's no need to remake or delete anything. Just make sure new convenors or teaching staff are added as Collaborators.
