How to set up a new glass supplier in Smart Glazier Design

This guide provides a step-by-step process for setting up a new glass supplier in Smart Glazier Design. Learn how to create new suppliers and enter glass product and process costs.

Create a new glass supplier

Click **"New"** to create a new supplier record.

**Tip!** Some suppliers partnered with Smart Glazier are already available to select in the suppliers list but are deactivated by default. Feel free to have a look by toggling off the "Active Only" filter and toggling on the Active setting for those suppliers if you would like to use them.

Enter a name for the supplier in the **''Supplier Name''** field. The **''Is Glass Supplier''** button should be ON.

Click on the **''Process Book''** field and select the **''Internal Process Book"**.

Enter the supplier's physical address and contact details.

If you order coatings from this supplier (i.e. Sandblast, Diamon Fusion or similiar, Safety Backing, Backpaint) click the **''Glass Order Display Options''** field and select **''Glass & Coating Drawings''**. This will ensure that coating process details are included on glass diagrams for this supplier. ***Hint:*** *If you only order coatings from this supplier, select ''Coating Drawings Only'' instead.*

Click **"Save"**.

Enter Glass Product Costs

From the supplier screen, click **"Glass Product Pricing"** ***Note:*** *If starting from another screen, click on the **Menu** Icon (top LH corner) and select **''Glass Product Pricing''**.*

First, check that your new supplier is selected in the **''Supplier''** dropdown field.

***(Optional)*** Use the following fields at the top of the screen to filter which glass products are displayed in the table: - **"Glass Type"** *(i.e. Clear, Rain)* - **"Glass Product"** *(i.e. 1/4" Clear)* - **"Min Thickness"** & **"Max Thickness"** *(i.e. 1/4" - 3/8")*

Select a row from the table on the left. Take note of the ***Glass Product*** *(1/4" Clear)*, and the ***Style*** *(Cut to size)* you have selected. Enter your cost for this glass product and style selected into the **"Cost per square foot"** field.

**Tip!** The dollar value you enter here should be *your cost* per square foot when purchasing this glass product from your supplier - i.e. your supplier's ''price''.

Enter Glass Process Costs

Click on the **menu** icon then select **''Process Pricing''**.

In the **''Process Book"** field, ensure the **''Internal Process Book''** is selected. Select your new supplier from the **''Supplier''** field.

Click **"New"**.

Click into the **''Process Band''** field. Start typing to search for the name of the process band that you want to enter a cost for. Alternatively, you can scroll through the list and click on a process band to select it.

Important! The Internal Process Book is a default process book that you should be able to use for most suppliers. However, some suppliers may require custom process band changes to match how they charge. If you cannot find the process you need, or you need to change the options for a particular process: - Email [support@smartglazier.com](mailto:support@smartglazier.com) with a copy of your supplier's fabrication pricelist. - Request a new process book to match the pricelist you have provided.

If the process cost *only applies* to annealed glass or toughened glass, select **''Annealed Only''** or **''Toughened Only''** from the **''Usage''** dropdown.

Select the relevant supplier from the **''Supplier''** dropdown.

Enter the **Minimum Thickness** and **Maximum Thickness** for this process cost. *Note: These fields refer to the glass thickness. If no glass thickness is listed on the pricelist for your supplier, and you want this cost to apply to all glass thicknesses, enter the minimum as 0" and the maximum as 2".*

Enter your cost for this process band in the **''Cost''** field. *Remember that this cost will only apply to glass if it meets the criteria you have configured here (i.e. Glass Usage, Minimum Thickness, Maximum Thickness).*

Tip! The dollar value you enter here should be *your cost* when ordering this process from your supplier - i.e. your supplier's ''price''.

Click **"Save"** to save your cost for this process band.

Tip! Remember to also add your supplier's **Energy Surcharge** as a process cost. The Energy Surcharge will be calculated automatically using the surcharge percentage rate entered here.
