Private dictionaries are a paid feature of bSDD allowing to upload dictionaries that are only accessible by selected users. Please contact [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected]) if you are interested in using this feature.
Below is the explanation how to turn a dictionary into private manually, using the web Management Portal. The same can be achieved via API or with 3rd party tools using it. Before you turn dictionary private, you need to first upload it publicly. If you would like to avoid that, set the attribute [[IsPrivate]] to [["true"]] in your upload file.
Navigate to [https://manage.bsdd.buildingsmart.org/](https://manage.bsdd.buildingsmart.org/domains) (or <https://manage-test.bsdd.buildingsmart.org/> if you use Test bSDD)
Log in with the email you provided when setting up your organisation.
    Click "Domains"
    Select your organisation
Now you can see all your dictionaries and their versions.
Click the button "Make domain private"
    Accept with "OK"
Your dictionary is already private. It can be accessed via authenticated API, and will not appear in the Search Page. You can specify who will have access to see this content via API.
    Click "Edit Authorization" button.
Add address emails of users to grant them access.
    Click "OK"

    Accessing private content of bSDD

You can only access private domain data when you're logged in as a user that is allowed to access it and the application you are using supports it. For example testing via the swagger page (<https://test.bsdd.buildingsmart.org/swagger>) you can only access the private domain via the secured API's. Accessing the data via the unsecured API's is possible but swagger does not support that (for those unsecured API's swagger does not send your 'token' so the server does not know who you are). You cannot access private data via the search website (e.g. <https://search-test.bsdd.buildingsmart.org>).
