IT Services - Create new Lead from Contacts in D365 CE

Navigate to [https://anzdrivetest.crm6.dynamics.com](https://anzdrivetest.crm6.dynamics.com)

Navigate to the Contacts page by clicking "Contacts" in the lefthand side menu.

Change the view from ‘My Active Contacts’ (default) to ‘All Contacts’ using the drop down menu.

On the All Contacts page, search for the contact ‘Lindsay Osborne’ using the ‘Filter by keyword’ search function in the top right corner

Click "Lindsay Osborne"

Click the ‘Related’ down arrow, then select ‘Leads’. This will bring up any existing leads under the contact name

Click "Leads"

Click "New Lead"

Enter Subject with the name convention ‘<UserInitials> Test meaningful lead title’

Enter a meaningful Description to the lead
Select Nearest city of your choice
Select Category as IT Services
Select Subcategory of your choice

Type Clemence Degouy as 'Specialist' and ensure autofill works
Select Financed as No
Enter Estimated Budget as $10,000
Select Lead Source of your choice

Scroll down to the ‘Search Existing Customer’ header. Check this has auto filled the contact information above.
Click "Save and Close"

Your new lead will appear under ‘Lead Associated View’ now"

Push the lead to the qualify stage to let the specialist qualify the lead.
Tip! The specialist receives an email with a link to access your lead and qualify it. The next few steps are completed by the specialist role.

The specialist clicks on "qualify" in the Business Process Flow and updates the "customer contacted" field from no to yes.

The specialist clicks on qualify.
CRM automatically creates the opportunity reusing the information that was already provided.

Return to 'My Open Opportunities' by clicking the opportunity button on the left hand side. Check that your converted lead appears in the list

Finito. You've now created a new lead from an existing contact and achieved a qualified lead, turning it into an Opportunity . You'll use this lead again tomorrow when you're working with Opportunities
