    1
Sign into the **Google Cloud Console**
    2
Type "**VPN**" in the search bar and click on the **VPN** option
    information ordinal icon
**What is VPN?**\ \ A VPN (Virtual Private Network) is a service that encrypts your internet connection and routes it through a remote server, providing privacy, security, and the ability to access restricted content by masking your IP address.
    3
Click on the **Interconnect** option from the left bar
    information ordinal icon
**What is Interconnect?**\ \ **Interconnect** is a Google Cloud service that provides a dedicated, high-bandwidth connection between your on-premises network and Google Cloud. It enables faster, more secure, and reliable data transfer compared to using the public internet, ideal for businesses with large data transfer needs or low-latency requirements.
    4
Click on the **CREATE VLAN ATTACHMENTS** button
    5
**Add VLAN attachment** wizard will open, scroll to the **Interconnect type** section and select the option **Dedicated Interconnect connection**

**What is Dedicated Interconnect connection?**\ \ A **Dedicated Interconnect connection** is a private, physical connection between your on-premises network and Google Cloud. It provides high-bandwidth, low-latency connectivity without using the public internet, offering more secure and reliable data transfers for enterprises with significant data or performance needs.
    6
Select the option **Partner Interconnect connection**
    information ordinal icon
**What is Partner Interconnect connection?**\ \ A **Partner Interconnect connection** allows you to connect your on-premises network to Google Cloud through a supported third-party service provider. It offers a flexible, cost-effective alternative to Dedicated Interconnect, providing private, high-bandwidth connectivity without requiring a direct physical link to Google Cloud. This option is ideal for businesses that don't need the full capacity of a Dedicated Interconnect or are in locations where Google’s dedicated infrastructure is unavailable.
    7
Select the option **Cross - Cloud Interconnect connection**
    information ordinal icon
**What is Cross-Cloud Interconnect connection?**\ \ **Cross-Cloud Interconnect connection** is a service that allows you to establish a private, high-speed network link between different cloud providers. It enables seamless data transfer and communication between multiple cloud environments, improving performance, security, and reducing latency for multi-cloud architectures.
    8
Scroll to the **Encrypt interconnect** section and select the option **Setup unencrypted Interconnect** **Note:** You can select the option as per your requirement.
    information ordinal icon
**What is Setup unencrypted Interconnect?**\ \ **Setup unencrypted Interconnect** refers to configuring a Dedicated Interconnect connection between your on-premises network and Google Cloud without encryption at the physical layer. While the connection is private and direct, data is not automatically encrypted during transit, so additional encryption methods, like VPN, may be needed to secure the data.
    9
Scroll the page and click on the **CONTINUE** button
    10
On the **Interconnect** wizard, click on the **SET UP PHYSICAL CONNECTION** button on the top left side to set up Physical Connection
    information ordinal icon
**What is PHYSICAL CONNECTION?**\ \ A **physical connection** refers to a direct, tangible link between two networking devices or systems using cables, fiber optics, or other hardware. It allows data transmission through a dedicated pathway, providing a stable and reliable connection, often used in high-speed or secure networking environments.
