      1
Navigate to the Fieldbook app on your device.
      2
Once open, tap on the "Fields" icon at the top of the list of options on the home screen.
      3
In the top right-hand corner, select the "+" sign to import a custom field layout file.
      4
Select the source folder where your field import file is. Local storage is what is already stored within FieldBook (previous uploads, samples files, etc...). Cloud storage will allow you to navigate to directories on your phone/tablet. BrAPI transfers are not covered in this tutorial.
      5
In this example, we have a Fieldbook folder on the tablet that contains a sub-folder of field import files.
      6
Select the file you wish to upload.
      7
Once the file has been selected, select the column in your file that contain the unique identifier for your plot/subplot/plant. This must be unique across all fields that are currently uploaded in Fieldbook. Additionally, you can select a primary and secondary identifier that can be used for identifying your plot/subplot/plant while phenotyping. These do not need to be unique.
      8
Once column selections have been made, select the "Import" button.
      9
You should see the name of the field you imported in the "Fields" menu.
