Go to Automations. Click "Assets" and fill in the Name and Description fields.

Set the module for which you want to select the condition and click "Insert Placeholder"

You will be taken to the following page where you can choose the placeholder you want the field to fetch data from

For text fields, you can select the number of initials that must appear on the details page

Tip! You can only select one placeholder at a time.

You can also insert placeholders for the later steps. For instance, in the following example, we are setting the description as the date on which the asset was created, the location as the original asset location, and the serial number as the AIN with the first 3 initials.

To set the description click "Add Step" and "Created On"

For numeric fields, you can extend or reduce the number of days/date by a number of your choice

You can enable the status toggle to activate your automation

Now, whenever you create a new asset, the automation will apply

In the following example, the location is the asset's defined location, the serial number is the first 3 initials of the AIN and the description is the created on date.
