**What is Node.js and npm?**

**npm (Node Package Manager)** is the default package manager for Node.js, used to install, manage, and share JavaScript libraries and dependencies. It simplifies project management by allowing developers to install and update packages easily.

On the **Node.js download** page, click on the **Windows Installer (.msi)** button to download the installer for Windows.

**What is the difference between the Windows Installer (.msi) and the Standalone Binary (.zip) for installing Node.js on Windows?**

The **Windows Installer (.msi)** is an easy-to-use installation package that sets up Node.js with all necessary configurations, including adding it to the system **PATH**, so you can run `node` and `npm` from any command prompt or PowerShell window. It also provides an automatic update mechanism and integrates with Windows properly.

The **Standalone Binary (.zip)** contains precompiled Node.js binaries without an installer. It is useful for advanced users who want a portable version of Node.js that does not modify system settings. You can extract and run it manually without needing administrative privileges.

**Downloads** wizard will open, select the **Downloads** folder and click on the **Save** button

Once the download is complete, double-click the downloaded node executable file.

**Note:** The recorded demo uses Node.js v22.14.0, but the actual installed version may vary depending on the latest available release at the time of installation.

**Nodejs installation** wizard will open, click on the **Next** button

**Licence page** will open, checkbox the **I accept the terms in the License Agreement** and click on the **Next** button

**Destination Folder** page will open, select the folder and click on the **Next** button

**Custom setup** page will open, click on the **Next** button

**Tools for Native Modules** page will open, click on the **Next** button

**Installation** page will open, click on the **Install** button

After the installation is complete, click the **Finish** button to exit the installation wizard.

Open **Command Prompt**, type `node --version`, and press **Enter** to check the installed Node.js version.
