Sign in into the **Microsoft Azure Portal**
Type **Azure Arc** in the search bar and click on the **Azure Arc** to view the Azure Arc dashboard
**What is Azure Arc?**\ \ Azure Arc is a Microsoft service that enables the management and governance of on-premises, multi-cloud, and edge environments using Azure tools and services. It extends Azure management capabilities such as Azure Resource Manager, Azure Security Center, and Azure Policy to resources outside the Azure cloud, including servers, Kubernetes clusters, and databases.
On the **Azure Arc** dashboard, click on **Overview** from the left bar
In the **Overview** wizard will open, here you can Manage resources and Deploy services
**What isthe "Manage resources across environments" feature in Azure Arc?**\ \ Azure Arc's "Manage resources across environments" feature allows centralized management, consistent governance, and unified security for on-premises, multi-cloud, and edge resources using Azure tools.
You can view and explore different services offered by Azure Arc
**What are Azure Arc resources?**\ \ Azure Arc resources are non-Azure assets that can be managed and governed using Azure Arc. **Servers:** On-premises and multi-cloud virtual or physical servers.\ **Kubernetes Clusters:** Kubernetes clusters running on-premises or in other clouds.
**What are Host environments in Azure Arc?**\ \ In Azure Arc, host environments specifically refer to infrastructure platforms where Azure Arc-enabled resources can be managed. These include: 1. **Azure Stack**: Microsoft's hybrid cloud platform for running Azure services in on-premises data centres. 2. **VMware vCenters**: Centralized management platforms for VMware environments. 3. **System Center Virtual Machine Manager (SCVMM)**: A management tool for virtualized data centres running Microsoft Hyper-V and other virtualization platforms.
On the **Overview** wizard, click on the **Snapshots ( preview)** tab to view the Snapshots for the Azure Arc
**What are Snapshots in Azure Arc?**\ \ In Azure Arc, Snapshots allow you to create point-in-time copies of data in managed databases. These snapshots can be used for backup and recovery, testing and development, and data archiving.
Click on the **Monitoring (preview)** tab to view all the Monitoring settings for the Azure Arc
**What is Monitoring in Azure Arc?**\ \ Monitoring in Azure Arc offers unified monitoring for resources across hybrid and multi-cloud environments, leveraging Azure Monitor capabilities for insights into performance, health, and status.
