Lab Result - Entering a New Lab Result

    Open the Patient Demographics and Click on the Patient Results Icon.

    If a lab filter name has not been chosen by default, click on the magnifying glass to open and choose the Filter. If you have a filter set as a default go to step 4.

    Choose your filter default, either by template or by DAY is generally the best selections. This demo is using you Template (Template shows like templates such as Lipid Panel, CBC, A1C etc. DAY or Date shows labs associated with a particular date that they were ordered)

    This demo will result a A1C that received a result of "No Result" The same steps would apply to any lab you want to manually enter a result for. Click on Enter Lab Results at the top.

    Click on the magnifying Glass for "Template".

    In the Template Name field type in the name or partial name of the template you wish to enter a result for. This example uses A1C (Glycolated Hemoglobin).

    Note in template name you only need to type in a partial name, then click Search. Doing this will bring up all templates that begin with A1C.

    Click on to choose the appropriate template from the resulting list.

    Once the Template is choosen, the Laboratory and Attachment type will populate automatically. Click on the magnifying glass for the Outstanding SP/SO Mapping if this result is associated with an order that has been placed previously for this test.

    If you do not see the order in the resulting list, click on Search to insure all outstanding orders are seen.

    All outstanding orders will show up once you have clicked on Search as above. from the list, choose the order that is associated with the result you will be entering. Doing this will insure your order date is correct. Note currently the Ordered date shows the current date of 10/09/2024. once the appropriate order is associated it will change to 10/3/2024.

    Note the change of the order date is now 10/3/2023, and the "Outstanding SP/SO Mapping" is now filled in as well as the "Ordering Provider" Next you will fill in all dates for Collected, Received, Preformed and Resulted.

    Clicking on the Magnifying glass on Collected, Received, Preformed and Resulted will open a calendar to allow you to select a date. Alternatively you can free type or use Function F4 to auto populate the date in the field.

    Once you have entered all dates, go to the value field and enter the value for the test.

    If the provider has not been notified of the test result, you would need to check the box for "Create Review Result Data" which will create a Review message for the provider to view the Value(s) you entered on the template.

    Once you have entered all Value(s) needed and created the review if needed, click OK to save your results.

    You will be returned to the Patient Results screen, Note the 10.2 result is now there. (this example the No Result had been approved previously for the A1C (Glycolated Hemoglobin) this is why the No Result shows along with the 10.2)
