    Lesson 1: Launch and Manage Virtual Machines

        In this lesson, we introduce the Managed Developer Cloud capability for the developer to launch a new virtual machine, select from various operating system images available, configure the size of the machine, storage, networking, firewall, security groups. We will also look at, how the developers can view all the virtual machines provisioned by them.

        On the left navigation pane, Click on **Services**

        Click **Managed Dev Cloud**

        Click **Virtualization Service**

        Click **Instances**

        On top right corner, Click **Launch New Instance**

        **Instance Name**: Enter the name of your choice, you want to give your virtual machine **Project Name:** Select **Demo TEST Project** **Environment:** Select **Development** **Data Center:** Select **Dallas, TX**

        Screen after entering the required values

        Scroll down and Click **Browse Catalog**

        Select **Ubuntu** image

        Under **Plan & Storage**, Leave **Pre-configured Plans** selected and then select **Medium** from the drop down option

        Click **Add Storage** Double-click the **Size (GB)** field and enter **50**

        On top right corner, notice the **Cost Summary** section\ Click on **Cost Breakdown** to view various cloud resources costs\ Click **Continue**

        Click the **Network**\ Select **dc02.segment** Under **Security Group**\ Select **Create New** Enter the name of your **Security Group**\ Under **Firewall Rules**\ Click **Add Rules**

        Enter **Inbound Rules** as desired

        Enter **Outbound Rules** as desired

        Click **Save** at the bottom of the screen

        Review **Firewall Rules**
