Click on the type of work you want to add. As an example, click on "Conference paper or presentation"

We recommend entering in a title or DOI and clicking "Search". This will look in the VT Elements system to see if anything matches. This way if a record of the work has already been created by a co-author you don't need to re-enter it.

Review the possible matches and if any are correct, click the 'Claim' button.

If there are no matches, scroll to the bottom and click "Go to next step"

Fill out the form with as much details as you know. Make sure to complete any required fields noted with red stars .

To add co-authors, click "Add another person"

Type in the persons first and last name. Click "Add"

The system looks for a matching VT author. If the match is correct, click "Yes"

If you are unsure of how to fill in a field, click on the associated question mark for more information.

Once you have filled in as much information as you know. Click "SAVE"

The next page gives you several options to link the record to funding or deposit a version to VTechWorks. If you do not have a file ready yet, you can skip this step for now and revisit it later.
