Segments

Segments allow you to create groupings, or segmentations, of your membership using the search criteria you've entered. There are three types of segments that can be created:
- Ephemeral: for "one time use" segments; segments are automatically deleted by the system 48 hours after creation
- Live: dynamically updated on a regular basis to add and remove people from the segment as they fall within and out of your search criteria; the segment will exist in Sentinel until you manually delete it
- Static: the members in your segment will NOT update over time; the segment will exist in Sentinel until you manually delete it
Click the blue "Create Segment" button.

By default, a new segment is private and only visible to its creator.
Read Only access (they can not edit the search criteria) can be granted by using the drop-down here to select the office name(s) you wish to give access.

Click the green "Save Segment" button.

To use the Segment in a search click the blue "Add Search Criteria" button.

Click the "Narrow List by Entity" drop down to limit the options available for selection. Select "Segment" in the drop down list. Then decide if you want your search results to include or exclude the members of the Segment.
Click the blue "Use Selected Items" button.

Click the magnifying glass next to the search field for a list of Segments and select your desired Segment.
Click the green "Search" button.
