Ministryplatform

This Guide walks you through how to navigate the Home Page of MP and includes info on each of the tabs: - My Dashboard, My Tasks, My Messages, My Selections, My Notifications \*\*\*In this training the example we will be using Engage Ministry to walk through the pages

Dashboard

On the Home Page, the first tab opens on the Dashboard where you can pin a chart that links to a particular page in MP that you view frequently to help minimize clicks to get where you need to go. We are going to go to groups to pin a useful chart onto your Dashboard.

I created a view that filters only Engage Groups (this can only be found on the Engage Team leads account, if you want a similar view created talk to your Admin or your SPoC)

Click "Engage Groups"

Click on the three dots to save a chart to your dashboard. This chart is breaking down all the Engage groups by Group Type, which looks like it would be the most useful from glancing at the chart options. Group Type is if it's a Small Group, Ministry Team, etc.

If you click the Dropdown called "Chart Type" you can change what kind of chart the info pulls into. I changed this one from the Doughnut chart to the Bar Graph. To pin this to your Dashboard select "Add to Dashboard"

Click "Close"

Click Home to see the new chart on your Dashboard. You might have to refresh for the chart to show up on your Dashbboard.

Now if you click the hyperlinked "Engage Groups" it will take you back to the view only showing the Engage groups view without having to go to Groups and then clicking the dropdown to select that particular view. That's the MP Dashboard and how to pin a Chart

Tasks

Click the "My Tasks" tab

The view that will default when you click into tasks are any tasks you have yet to complete. If you wanted to see your view options like past tasks that you have already completed click the dropdown.

Click into a Task to get more info as to what the task is asking you to do.

The first page of the task will give you a brief non-specific breakdown of what needs your attention or action in MP. Click "Record" to view the details.

Click "Go To Attached Record" and it will take you to the specific record that needs something done for.

Click "Audit Log" Here you can see all the changes made to this record, including the change that triggered the task to be created.

Creating Tasks

Back on your Home Page click "New Task" to create a task for someone else to complete.

Here you can fill out the details but if you want to have it attached to a certain page though you need to create the task on that page.

For an example we will click into "Opportunities" and assign Chyrstal a task

Make sure you are on the "General" page to assign a task

Click the "Tasks" dropdown.

Click "New Task"

Click the "Title:" field and type in your title. EX: Follow Up

Click the "User:" field. This is where you can assign it to someone within MP. Remember to search by last name.

Click "Went, Chrystal"

Click the "Start Date:" field. You can also add a Due Date on the right side here.

In the Task you can briefly explain what needs to be done. You can be as detailed as you need.

Click "Save". Once you click save that task will show up in the User's My Tasks tab on their Home page!

My Messages

Click "My Messages". Here is where you can see if you have any messages you have drafted in MP.

If you select the dropdown to see the other Email options like, My Drafts, Archived, Sent, etc.

Tip!

Click "My Selections" tab to see where in MP you have selected anything on any page. For example, if you got to the Contacts page and select five people to send a message to, MP will remember that selection and it will stay selected until you clear your selections or manually go to that page and deselect them.

To clear your selections, select all open selections and click "Actions"

Click "Clear"

And they will be cleared out!

My Notifications

"My Notifications" is where if you have an automated email notification going out to you sending you a particular list or view, this is where you can manage those notification settings or delete them if you no longer want the email.
