Open MS Word and log into the Kurtosys Studio for Office add-in.

Select the Tables card to access the tables module.

Select the "Add Table" option to create a new table.

Give the table a unique name.

The name should consist of lowercase letters and underscores only as this is an identifier (like a code) for your new style.

Dataset will default to the first alphabetical dataset that is defined in the Kurtosys app instance.

Type in (or scroll through the dropdown options) and select the dataset to be used for the table.

Select "Shared Table, with Kurtosys Cell Styles" if this table should be shared across your organisation (making it available in both MS Word and MS Excel).

"Local Table" would not be available in any other document templates.

The Dataset Query defaults to the first alphabetical query defined for the dataset.

Select the dataset query that you would like the table to be based on.

Verify that the dataset query inputs are correct and Click "Next".

Click "Next".

Make a selection of cells that you would like to apply a predefined cell style to (in the example below, the header row is being selected).

Select the cell style to be applied to the previously selected cells.

Here we are choosing the italic_bold style that was created in the previous scribe.

Click "Next", note that the selected style is indicated on the table configuration.

Click "Finish" to complete creating your table.

Click on the table to add it to your Word document.

Your newly created table will appear in your Word document:

Note that the header row is using the previously created cell style (italic_bold)
