**What is a project?**\ \ In GCP, a **project** is a container that organizes and manages all cloud resources, services, permissions, and billing. Each project has its own unique ID and is used to track resource usage, control access through Identity and Access Management (IAM), and link to a billing account. Projects also manage APIs and services, allowing you to configure and monitor cloud operations within a defined scope.

**What is an Organization?**\ \ In the GCP "Select a Project" wizard, an **Organization** represents the top-level entity in the GCP resource hierarchy. It groups and manages multiple projects under a single domain, typically used by businesses or institutions. Organizations help centralize control over projects, billing, and permissions, allowing administrators to define policies and manage access across all projects within the organization. This structure is essential for managing large environments with multiple teams and projects, providing better governance and security.
