    Hands On Practice

Now let's get started with the exercise. As a reminder, here is the scenario: Your client, Craig, asked you to help him add a new service to his monthly invoice. **What do you need to know?** - The new service is **Weed control** - The amount of the service is **$125.00** - The customer is **Amy’s Bird Sanctuary** **What do you need to do?** Set up what is needed and record the appropriate transaction to track weed-control treatment for Amy’s Bird Sanctuary. Then run a report to check the total amount of these unbilled charges.
First, we need to create the new Weed control service.
From the left navigation bar, hover over Sales, then select "Products & services".
    Click "New".
    Click "Service".
In the Name field, type "Weed control".
In the Sales price/rate field, type "125". *The Income account field should already say "Services".*
For the purposes of this exercise, let's say Sales tax needs to be included on this item.
    Click "Confirm".
    Click "Save and close".
Now let's create the delayed charge for Amy.
Click the "+New" button, then select "Delayed charge".
In the Customer field, select "Amy's Bird Sanctuary".
For the purposes of this exercise, leave the Delayed Charge Date as is (defaults to today).
On the first line, in the Product/Service field, select "Weed control".
Because you added the rate when creating the new Weed control service, the rest of the information on that line will populate.
