View the pitot from the side view. Ensure that both legs of the pitot are of equal length. If one leg is longer, measure this distance (Z). Also check the centerlines are aligned when viewed from both sides (W). The pitots are considered acceptable if the pitot alignment (W) is less than or equal to 0.08 cm (1/32 in), and (Z) is less than or equal to 0.3175 cm (1/8 in).
