    Navigate to Setup then go to Contact object

    Click "New" button

    Choose "Checkbox"

    Click 'Next' button.

    Define a name on your new field then click 'Next'

    Click 'Read-only' checkbox. This should check all the checkboxes below it.

    Uncheck it for 'CRM-Administrator', 'CRM-ExtRelations' and 'System Administrator'

    Click 'Next' button.

    Click the "Add Field" checkbox to uncheck all

    Click Save button.

    If we want to display the new field to the page layout, Click "Page Layouts"

    Click "Administrator + ER Contact Layout" (or the target page layout you want to add this new field in)

    Find the new checkbox field then drag and drop it to the layout below

    Click "Save"
