When you create a new project, you are asked to indicate if your project is confidential.

As the description suggests, this is designed for projects in which the safety of project members is a security concern. There are several things to note about this feature: - The purpose of this feature is encourage collaboration and data sharing. E.g. we will use this information to make other (verified) Lexbox users aware of other non-confidential projects that might be related to or relevant for a project they are working on or want to create. - We will treat the secrecy of confidential projects with the utmost care. - **No projects** will be made publicly available on the internet. - There is no list or index of all non-confidential projects in Lexbox.

- **Confidential** projects: Are only visible to project members and Lexbox admins (including org admins if the project is in an org). *Only project **managers** can see the other members of a confidential project.* - **Non-confidential** projects: Can be viewed in Lexbox by non-members, but they are currently only **findable** if they are in a Lexbox org. - **Unspecified** projects (projects created before approximately May 2024): Are currently treated as confidential, with one difference: non-managers can still see other project members. This guide explains how a project manager can specify a project's confidentialiy. **Note:** We will eventually contact project managers to request that they specify the confidentiality of their projects and, after providing ample time for them to do so, eventually treat unspecified projects as non-confidential.

Project managers can click on the badge to change the confidentiality of the project

Projects can be made confidential using the button at the bottom of the page in the "More settings" area.

Projects that existed before this feature was added include a button at the top of the page to set the project's confidentiality
