How to organize your scenes on OBS

      1
Create a scene for your camera and call it "šŸ”“ me"
      2
On ITS we use an organization system that makes it super fast to design our virtual experiences. The core of this organization system is using the following naming convention for scenes: Begining the name of scenes with a šŸ”“ (red circle emoji) or a šŸ”’ (padlock emoji) šŸ”“ = Scenes to use live šŸ”’ = Scenes to compose other scenes This allow us to have fewer places to make changes, because we use scenes to compose other scenes. And we keep these scenes visually separated so we don't accidentaly transition to these scenes live.

Use this organization system and always name your scenes this way and I guarantee you'll save much time in the near future.
      3
Now let's add a Source. Click on the + symbol in the Sources and select Video Capture Device.
      4
Name it after the name of the camera you are using and the hit OK.
      5
If you are on PC, select your Camera under Devices. Change the Resolution/FPS Type to Custom. Change Resolution to 1920 x 1080 And finally change the FPS to 30 and hit OK. You now have your main Camera showing on your OBS canvas.
      6
If you are on Mac, select your Camera under Devices. Uncheck the Use Preset box. Change the Resolution to 1920 x 1080. Change the Frame Rate to Simple FPS Values and 30 FPS and hit OK. You now have your main Camera showing on your OBS canvas

      Creating your pre-show lobby scene

      7
Now let's add another Scene by again clicking on the + under the Scene Dock on your OBS and name it šŸ”“ pre-show lobby and hit OK.
      8
Now let's add a cool background. Go to the Sources dock for the šŸ”“ pre-show lobby that you just created and add a source by clicking on the + in the Sources dock. Here you can either add an Image or a Media Source depending on whether the background you are using is a still image or a video. For this example I will be using a still image as my background so the source I will select is an Image source
      9
Name it background-1 then hit OK.
      10
Now click on Browse in the pop up window.
      11
Go ahead and search for one of your backgrounds that you'd like to use then select it and open.
      12
      Hit OK.
      13
If you find that your background does not fit the entire canvas you can right click on the background-1 in the sources, select Transform and Fit to Screen.
      14
You have now successfully added a background that fits your OBS canvas.
