RPT: How to review a case

When you're a reviewer for a case in RPT, you're seen as a *Committee Member*. The person leading the committee is known as the *Committee Manager*. This role comes with extra duties and abilities in RPT.

You will be notified via email when the case is ready for you to review.

After logging in, you'll see your new tasks. Click on the Candidate's name to open the case.

Once you open the case, you'll start on the **Case Materials** page, showing the Candidate Packet and Internal Sections. Committee Managers have extra options shown in the screenshot below. Click on a document to view it.

By choosing the **Case Details** view, you can read instructions for the committee, see who is on the committee, and use the comments feature to talk to other members. Here is what the Committee Member sees:

To see everything in the packet, including Candidate Materials, external evaluations, and the internal reviewer’s letter, go to the Case Materials page and click **Read Case**.

When you open the document viewer, you will see a packet containing all the materials that the Candidate, Committee Managers or Administrators, and External Evaluators have added up to the point when you are reviewing the case. The Candidate's materials will be shown before the committee-facing materials, which are not visible to the Candidate.

To view a specific item in the packet, click on the arrow next to the section you are interested in, and then click on the document's name.

Within the document viewer, a reviewer (whether a Committee Manager or Committee Member) can [add private notes](https://product-help.interfolio.com/en_US/reviewing-cases/make-notes-on-case-packet-materials-and-export-your-annotations) visible only to that reviewer. *The reviewer’s notes are discoverable in the event of a legal proceeding.*
