Clever/ClassLink schools should never manually change student/user account usernames or passwords - that will break the link with their Clever/ClassLink account and they won't be able to login.

      Option 1 - Reset Passwords - Temporary

      information ordinal icon
Resetting passwords this way will create a **temporary** password. The first time a student/user logs in with this temporary password they will be prompted to change it. Typically, students/users will not remember what they changed their password to and will be unable to login the next time you want them to. So then you end up in what we call, "Password Purgatory" - constantly resetting passwords. Although this is an option to reset passwords, we recommend using Option 2 instead.

To learn what an error status code means, click "Status Codes". If you do not see any error codes, move on to the next step. If you do, go back and update your excel document based on the error code you received and re-save it. You can complete as many trial runs as you need.
