    1
Open a PDF document in Acrobat and find the search bar in the top right corner.
    2
Start typing "Accessibility Check", and select the following option.
    3
    Select "Start Checking"
    4
An Accessibility Checker toolbar will appear and highlight each issue found in the PDF.
    5
Some examples of what it checks: alt text, title, primary language, headings, and color contrast. These issues on the PDF will lower the accessibility score of the site that stores the PDF.
    6
Right clicking each issue will allow you to "*Explain*" or "*Check Again*". If the issue is **highlighted,** it will also allow a prompt for "*Fix*", such as if the issue is with alt text, and a following prompt will allow you to add alt text to images. Right clicking issues that **need a manual check** will allow you to "*Pass*" or "*Fail"*. Please overview these manual check issues to make sure there is not an issue. For example, that all color contrast is clear and text is easily legible.

Once Accessibility Check is passed, please save the document and **replace/delete all versions of this PDF already stored on site.**
