    Open a new email

    Click "New mail" to start a new email

    Choose who will receive this email ("recipients")

    Type in the email address of the person you are sending the email to in the "To" field. Matching names and emails from the NSH directory will appear below. Click on the correct name/email address to add that person as a recipient to your email.

    To find someone in the NSH email directory, click the "To" button, then click "NSHA". Type the name you are looking for in the field. Matching names and emails will appear below. Click the "+" icon to add them as a recipient to your email.

    TIPS: You can put multiple email addresses in the "To" field to send it to multiple people. The "CC" field is for sending a "carbon copy" of the email to one or more additional recipients. Email addresses entered in the CC field can be seen by all recipients. The "BCC" field (accessed by clicking "Bcc") is for sending a "blind carbon copy" of the email to one or more additional recipients without them knowing who else you sent it to. Email addresses entered in the Bcc field are hidden from all recipients.

    Write the email

    Click the "Add a subject" field and type the subject of this email. Try to be short and direct so the recipient(s) can easily see what the email is about. Then, type out the body of the email that you want to send. To attach a photo, document, or other file to the email, click the paperclip icon at the top of the window.

    Add an attachment (if needed)

    Click the paperclip icon, then click "Browse this computer" to look for the file you want to attach

    Find the file you want to attach, click it once, then click "Open" to attach it to the email. You can also double-click the file to attach it without having to click "Open".

    TIP: You can also drag-and-drop files to attach them much more quickly. Simply locate the file on your computer, click and hold your mouse on the file, drag it to the main body of the email window, then release your mouse to attach it!

    Send the email

    When finished writing your email, click "Send" to send it to the recipient(s) you chose. A copy of the email will appear in your "Sent Items" folder for future reference once you send it.
