Send a Newsletter

Go to <https://pugwashestuary.com/wp-admin> and sign in.

This will redirect you to your WordPress dashboard.

Click the image below "Send a Newsletter:"

Click "FOPE Newsletter Template". This will open the FOPE Newsletter template in the Newsletter editor.

Add an email subject in the subject field.

You can add a snippet of text (this text displays on the preview line when a subscriber receives an email). If you don't enter one, it will revert to the first portion of text from the body of the email.

If you would like to see what your newsletter will look like in mobile, click this button. Click it again to see the desktop version again.

Your newsletter by default has four sections: A header (with the logo and title), an intro text block, latest blog posts, and a footer. Each of those sections can be edited, moved or removed. To edit the properties of a section, hover over that section and click the edit button. If the section is text, this will also open the text editor. These editing options open in the bar to the right.

You can duplicate a section by clicking the duplicate icon.

To remove a section, click the X icon.

You can also add sections. Click and drag a section from the right side to the location you would like it to appear to add it.

Tip: If you see the editing bar to the right and not the sections to add, it means you are actively editing a section. Just click somewhere outside of that section to stop editing.

If you are not ready to send this newsletter or simply want to save your progress, click "Save".

When you are happy with the newsletter, click "Next".

This screen will give you options for your newsletter audience. The default is to send to all groups. You should not need to change any of these settings.

If you want to preview your newsletter before sending it, click on the Eye icon.

You have two options for sending your newsletter. You can either send it immediately, or you can schedule it for a later date. If you click "Send now", the newsletter will begin the process of sending.

If you click "Schedule", fields will appear for you to select a date and time for sending. Choose the date and time and then "Schedule" again to set the scheduled date.

Now you will see a progress bar, which displays the status of the newsletter, and to how many subscribers it has been sent.

Tip: The newsletter does not send to everyone at once - this is done to make sure that the server is not overloaded with too many requests, which can lead to errors and missed emails. It can take up to an hour for all of the emails to send, depending on the number of subscribers.

Manage Newsletters

Hover over "Newsletter" and click "Newsletters".

Here you can view your newsletters. You can see their sending progress and their scheduled date. You can also edit newsletters that have not yet sent by clicking the edit icon. You can view statistics by clicking the chart icon, or preview the newsletter by clicking the eye icon. You can duplicate the newsletter by clicking the duplicate icon, or delete the newsletter by clicking the X icon.

Manage Subscribers

Hover over "Newsletter" and click "Subscribers".

You can now see a list of all of your subscribers. You can manually add subscribers by clicking "Add New". You can also edit subscribers by clicking on their edit icon, or delete subscribers by clicking on their X icon.

You can view statistics of your subscriber base by clicking "Statistics".
