Set Media Collection as an Assignment

Create a Media collection activity as usual. Ensure "Assignment collection" and "Assignment Submission in Media Collection" settings are selected, these are located in the 'General' settings tab.

Click "Save and return to course".

Under the Media collection activity, Click "Add and activity or resource".

Click "Assignment" from the activity picker.

Provide an Assignment name.

Locate the 'Submission types' tab and Untick the "File submissions" option.

Click the "Media collection" field.

Ensure the correct Media collection activity is selected. The gallery visibility option can be set to the needs of the teaching staff. Click the help tooltip for additional information.

Click "Save and return to course".

It is recommended that staff hide the assignment activity to prevent students to viewing an empty activity as this may cause confusion. This can be done by clicking the dropdown button located adjacent to the assignment activity.

Click "Hide".

To view and grade submissions, Click the Assignment activity task.

Click "View all submissions".

Submissions can be viewed and graded as usual on this page.
