Set up Azure Directory Sync on Virsuplabb Domain

Login to Proofpoint portal, expand Account management
***Note:***
If you are an MSP, you need to expand **Customer management** --> **Customers** then chose the specific customer you want to work on.

Click "Domains" to display the list of domains if you have more than one

Notice the list of owned domains and the first in the list is your primary domain, which is the domain you will be using while configuring the sync
***Note:*** When you have multiple domains you always use the **primary domain** ( the domain you use when you created the profile for the first time. Default is always the first one on the list) Other domains are considered as secondary domains

Expand **User management**

Click on **Import & Sync**

Click **Azure Directory Sync** if you are using Office 365
**Note**: if you are using an on-premise I.e.: Exchange then chose **Active Directory Sync** any other server (except the ones mentioned already) use the **CSV import**

These ( **Primary domain**, A**pplication client ID**, **Client Secret key**) are the fields you will need to fill in

Login to [vircomportal.com](http://vircomportal.com) to get the info for those three fields
**Note:** Use the same creds (email and password) you use to login too your Proofpoint portal

Click **Azure Active Directory**

Notice the list of Customers hosted on Proofpoint, chose the client concerned and click on **CONFIGURED** button
**Note:** If you just created the profile it might take few minutes (Max 1 hour) to get propagated to VircomPortal

Now Click on ***Create App Registration*** button

Make sure to chose or use the account that has Administrator privileges on office 365

After few seconds and if your account has ALL the required permissions you will get similar pop up, then click ***OK*** button and go back to the **Proofpoint portal** under **Azure Directory Sync**
***Note:*** if your account is missing any required permissions you will get prompted with a popup that has Values of Application ID and Secret Key. In this case Copy and Paste in Proofpoint portal under **Azure Directoy Sync.**

Notice that the **Primary domain**, **Application ID**, and the **Secret Key** are automatically copied. scroll down

In the Sync frequency chose the sync frequency time. Default is **Every Hour**

Once the Frequency Sync time is set then click ***SAVE*** button

Next is to click on ***SAVE & RUN SYNC NOW*** button, to sync your users, aliases, functional accounts, Groups, and updates any necessary info needed

View the changes detected and if necessary make some exception by clicking on **Exempt from sync** to the right of the item

Click **SYNC ACTIVE DIRECTORY** to display a summary window

Click ***CONFIRM*** button to confirm the changes
