    Sign in into the **Microsoft Azure Portal**

    Type **Key vaults** in the search bar and click on the **Key vaults** to view the Key vaults dashboard

    **What are Key vaults?**\ \ In Azure, Key Vaults are secure repositories for managing sensitive information such as secrets, encryption keys, and certificates. They help enhance data protection by providing secure storage, controlled access, and audit logging for cryptographic keys and secrets used by cloud applications and services.

    On the **Key vaults** dashboard click on the **Create** button on the left side

    Click on the **Resource group** dropdown and select the resource group **virtual-network-rg** option **Note:** If you do not have a Resource group, you can create one by clicking on the **Create new** link option

    Scroll to the **Key vault name** section and give Name as "**my-key-vault-in28minutes**"

    Scroll to the **Pricing tier** section and select the option **Standard**

    Scroll the page and click on the **Review + create** button

    After the Validation is successfully passed, scroll the page and click on the **Create** button

    After the deployment is completed click on the **Go to resource** button

    **my-key-vault-in28minutes** wizard will open, here you can view all the details and configurations of the Key Vault

    Click on the **Keys** from the left bar

    **Keys** wizard will open, click on the **Generate/import** button to create a new Key in the Azure Key Vault
