Student Guide - Register from Your Plan

This guide will help students register for courses using Workday Student's Register from Plan feature. It covers how to choose sections for courses and make edits to the plan to ensure a successful registration. If you register from your plan be sure to have your Enrollment Coach review your registration to be sure you are in the right courses for your location and modality (online vs in-person, PBE vs Non-PBE, and other course specifics).

Workday

From your Workday homepage, click "MENU"

Click "Academics" to access your Academic Dashboard.

From your Academic Dashboard, click "View My Academic Plan"

Click "Register from Plan"

Alert! If you have or are going to request a change of program of study for the Spring, you will want to work with your enrollment coach to update your plan before registering to get your new program classes added to your plan. It will show your current program for fall as the degree requirements.

In the Register from Plan screen you will see a list of the classes that have been planned for your Spring semester. On the left you will see text information about the course and a table that gives you information about the sections offered. Note the columns that are in red boxes. You will want to pay careful attention to Section - The last group of numbers and letters tell you which students the section who should be in the class. The Delivery Mode and Meeting Patterns will help you make sure your classes is for your modality (online/in-person) an campus. However, if you are a PBE student, all of your classes should have a P in the last group of numbers. If you see anything besides a P (for PBE students only), G (for non- PBE students), or just numbers with no letters (non- PBE students), please reach out to your Enrollment Coach or faculty advisor before choosing your section.

When picking out the course for your schedule, you will want to be sure you are eligible to take the course. This means that you are not missing any of the pre-requisites or co-requisites. If the "Eligible" box is not checked, you cannot register for the class and should delete it to continue registering for your other courses. Step 12 gives more information on how to and why you might delete a course.

After you have verified the course details, click the box in the "Select" column for the section in which you want to register.

The box next to the course you pick will turn blue with a white check mark. If you change your mind about the course, clicking the blue box will deselect the course.

If there is an error with the course you select, you will see a red ERROR flag on the right side of the screen.

Click the Red Error flag for details about the error.

To delete a course from your registration, hover over the course and click the "-", or minus icon, that appears. Deleting it from the registration does not remove it from your academic requirements, it just removes the class from this registration. You might delete the course if you decide you don't want to take the class, the eligible box is not checked, or you are receiving some type of error when selecting your course.

You will want to select a course section for every course listed on the left side of the screen. You cannot complete the registration until you do. Once you are done, click the blue "Register" button.

Note, if you attempted to register for classes that you are not able to register for, they will appear as "Unsuccessful Registrations". You are not registered in classes under the "Unsuccessful Registrations". The information included in this area will tell why you were not able to register for the course. Meet with your Enrollment Coach for help. The courses you successfully registered for will be listed as "Successful Registrations".

Click "View Registered Courses" to see all of your registered classes with details.

You will see the "My Enrolled Courses" with all of the course details.

Tip! Once you have registered for courses, please reach out to your enrollment coach to have them review your courses and make sure there are no changes that need to be made. Errors that are not caught before the first day, may cause student account, financial aid, or other academic issues if they have to be corrected on the first day or after.
