Navigate to [Runway](https://runwayml.com/?utm_source=100daysofai.beehiiv.com&utm_medium=newsletter&utm_campaign=day-37-create-a-video-with-ai)\ \ Click '**Try Runway**' and then follow the sign-up instructions.
    2
Once you've signed up, make sure you're in the main dashboard of Runway.\ \ Click the '**Start your session**' text.
    3
In the top-left corner of the page, click the drop-down menu and select the Gen-2 version of Runway. \ \ This is because only the image to text version of Runway is available to use on Runway for free. The text to video option using Gen-3 turbo is currently only available within paid plans.
    4
In the text field, enter your prompt.\ \ First, think about your subject. What is it that you want to create a video *of*? For example, a New York skyline, a dog laying on a couch, a field of cows... whatever it is, make sure you include a clear *subject*.\ \ Then you'll need to add descriptors to your prompt which help decide the style of the video.\ \ With text prompting for video, here are some *descriptors* that will help you generate a prompt that matches your vision: - **Focus** - *zoomed in, zoomed out, birdseye, panoramic* - **Level of realism** - *cartoon, abstract, artistic, photorealistic, dystopian* - **Lighting** - *Bright, dark, sunset, dawn, gloomy, grey* As with other forms of AI prompting, if you utilise descriptors to make your input very explicit, your output will more closely match your expectations. If you have some knowledge of video production or design, you can also use prompt modifiers at the end of your prompt, which gives you even greater control over the style of your videos. [Watch this video from Runway](https://youtu.be/yi0GtvoxwKw?feature=shared) for more on prompting in Runway. \ \ If you're stuck for prompt ideas, use this:\ \ 'A cinematic, hyper-realistic, wide-angle shot of the New York skyline at sunset.'
    5
    Click "**Generate 4s**"
    6
Your video generation will now start (it might take a few minutes), when it's done, click play on the video player and watch your first creation. \ \ Now you're going to create a video using the same prompt, but using Runway's predefined styling options to change the style of the shot.\ \ Click the '**Add Style'** button.
    7
Scroll through the style gallery and **select a style to apply to your video.**\ \ Select any style you like!
    8
Once you've selected a style, click '**Generate 4s**' to create a new video with your newly applied style selection.\ \ You'll see this video start to generate on the right hand side of the page. It can take a few minutes to generate. Note: You might see a small text prompt saying 'View Latest' on the right-hand side of the page, click this to see your new video.
    9
You'll see a new video has been created using your existing text prompt, but with a preset style from within Runway.\ \ This style preset has essentially overridden the style of video set within the prompt (in bold):\ \ A **cinematic, hyper-realistic**, wide-angle shot of the New York skyline at sunset.
