    Outright Gift for Existing Constituent

First, locate the constituent record by using the global search at the top of the screen or selecting the record from your list of recently viewed constituents.
To narrow down your global search, you can limit results to constituent records only by using the drop down menu to the left of the search bar.
Enter the constituent's name. 1. If you see the correct constituent in the results, click on their record to open it. 2. You can hover your mouse over one of the results to see additional information about that record before opening it. 3. If the immediate results do not include your donor, or you need to see more information, hit enter to see additional records.
From the results screen, you can select your donor. To keep your search results open, right click on a donor's name to open their record in a new tab.
Once you have found the donor's record, select the Constituent Details tab.
From the "Giving Details" tab, click "Transmittals"
Any transmittals that have been submitted for this constituent will appear on this screen. To create a new transmittal (once again - this will be for an outright gift), select "New"
When you first open the page, you will notice the top section is labeled "For Constituent Mgmt Only" - **do not edit either field in this section**! Please be aware of the labels on these fields, you do not need to edit, remove, or add any data here.
Scroll down to the Donor Information section. You will see that the **Constituent** is already populated - this will be the primary donor for the gift.
Below the constituent is a **Notes** field. Please use this field to provide any relevant information about this transaction or donor that Constituent Management will need to process the gift. More information is always better than less! As you enter information in the transmittal fields, you can always return to the Notes field to add more details.
Next, scroll down to the Transaction Information section. Since this form is for outright gifts, the **Transaction Type** will default to "Gift" and cannot be changed.
In the **Total Transaction Amount** field, enter the full amount of the gift. In the next section, we will select payment amounts if it is split between multiple designations.
Next, select the **Transaction Date**. This should be the date the payment was received.
Select the **Tender Type** from the picklist options.
If the **Tender Type** is "Check", make sure you enter the **Check Number**.
By default, Appeal will be populated with the General Appeal Code. This is used for gifts that are not associated with any specific appeal. If the donor's gift should be associated with an appeal, click the "x" to the right of General Appeal Code.
You can search for an appeal using the Appeal name. To select an appeal, you must **CLICK** on the record in the drop down. Even if you enter the full name of the appeal, you must click the record to update the field.
