Your first step will be to navigate to <https://my.bgsu.edu/home>

Click "Housing & Meal Plan Application"

Once you log into your Housing Portal using your BGSU username and password you will click on the "Apply for Housing" button on the left hand side of your homepage.

**Housing tip!**

When selecting your term make sure as a new student you select "**Academic Year**".

You now have access to the 2025-26 Academic Year Housing Agreement. To complete your application, click "Apply"

**Housing tip!**

Think of your Housing Agreement as a lease or contract. **It is very important for you to read and understand the housing terms before you sign your agreement**, as they are binding.

Because your Housing Agreement is a contract you are not allowed to sign it yourself if you are under 18 years of age. You will need to designate a parent or guardian to co-sign your Housing Agreement with you.

When you are designating a parent or guardian it is very important for you to enter the same first name, last name and email address.

Important!

If you enter a different first or last name than your parent uses to sign their copy of the Housing Agreement, the system will not accept your guardian's digital signature.

If Freddie enters Momma Falcon but his mother enters Mother Falcon, our system will not see those as the same and therefore the Housing Agreement will not be co-signed.

Before you continue double check that the names and email of your parent or guardian are entered correctly. Then click "Save & Continue"

This will send an email to your designated parent or guardian. They will need to click the link in the email to co-sign the application for you.

**Housing tip!**

The Housing team always suggests that students and parents or guardians complete this section together to make sure there are no mistakes when designating the parent or guardian in the system.

You will not be able to move past this section until your parent or guardian co-signs the Housing Agreement from the link in the email they were sent. 

Once they complete their signature you will be able to click "Continue" and move on to the next step of your Housing Application.

If you are under the age of 18 at the time you need to fill out the Housing and Dining Agreement, there are a few additional steps you need to follow. Below you will find a step by step guide to designating a parent or guardian to co sign your Housing and Dining Agreement.
