Navigate to the /server-manager page of the CX Controller and login.
Go to the Backup section and make sure Backup to desktop is chosen.
Click here
Download the backup file once completed.
Go to the System Upgrade section.
Chose the version of MiVB you want to upgrade to from the drop down list.

It is recommended to always use the Download and Install option so that you can download and install the new software load on the Inactive partition during business hours.

The system will now download and install the new software load on the inactive partition.

After business hours, activate the new software load.
Click here
The database will now be transferred to the inactive partition were the new software load was installed.
It will then reboot and restore the database. This process will take some time, up to 30-45 minutes in some cases.
Once you see this output, the upgrade is now complete.
If the controller you just upgraded has a PRI interface configured, you will need to login to the ESM interface, go to maintenance commands and run this prompt: UPGRADEBOOTROM ALL. The output will tell you if you will need to reboot the system.
