Scroll over the section you want to make smart and click "More"

You can choose from two categories, "Contact list membership" or "Contact lifecycle stage". Choose the one you want to use.

The sidebar will open and you'll see the Smart rule variation options. To see and edit the content. Click the dropdown.

Edit your module, e.g by adding different text.

Then, to check your Smart rule, click "Actions"

And find a contact you know meets the criteria you want to view
