The first step is to create an "Automated" email with your content. We recommend naming the email "<email name> - From <what's the from name being tested>". The <email name> is the name of the email and the <what's the from name test> is the from name that will appear in your recipient's inboxes. On the "Settings" screen, select the "From name" that you want to test as part of one of your testing cohorts. You'll then want to save and publish your email for automation.
Once your first email is published, you'll want to clone the email so that you can update the "From name" that will be used as part of your test. Click on "Actions" in the top right and select "Clone". You'll then create a second automated email where the only difference is the "From name".
Update the name of the email "<email name> - From <what's the from name being tested>". The <email name> is the name of the email and the <what's the from name test> is the from name that will appear in your recipient's inboxes. Click on the "From name" drop down to select the second from name being tested. Select the from name you want to test. Click "Review and save". Click "Save for automation". Click "Publish email"
Once your second email is published, you'll want to clone the email so that you can update the "From name" that will be used as part of your test. Click on "Actions" in the top right and select "Clone". You'll then create a third automated email where the only difference is the "From name". Update the name of the email "<email name> - From <what's the from name being tested>". The <email name> is the name of the email and the <what's the from name test> is the from name that will appear in your recipient's inboxes. Then go to the "Settings" screen. Click on the "From name" drop down to select the second from name being tested. Click "Review and save". Click "Save for automation".
    Click "Publish email"
    Click "Go to workflows"
Click "Create workflow" in the top right.
Click the "Name your workflow" field. Update the name of the email "<email name> - From Name Test". The <email name> is the name of the email.
Create a "Contact-based" workflow by clicking on "Start from scratch" and selecting "Contact-based". You'll then select "Specific date" as your starting criteria. Select the date that you want your email to be sent.
The date and time you select would be the cutoff point where any new members of an active list would not be enrolled. For example, if you say the cutoff point is at 8:00am on Monday and a contact becomes a member of the active list at 8:05am on that Monday, they would not be included in the mailing.
    Click "Next"
Click "Choose the triggers that decide how a contact enters this workflow". Click "List memberships". Choose the list(s) that you want to send your email to. Click "Apply filter". Click "Save".
Underneath the delay step, click the "+" sign to add a workflow action.
The time and date in the "Delay" step is the time and date that your email will be sent.
In available actions, search for "split test automation" and click "Three cohort split test automation". Depending on how many names you are testing, you'll want to select the correct number of cohorts to split on. Click "Save"
Underneath the split test automation step, click the "+" sign to add a workflow action. Select the "Value equals branch" action step. Click "Choose a property". Click "2. Three cohort split test automation" which is what the "Value equals branch" will branch on. Click "cohort". Check the "Create a separate branch for each value in this property" box. Click "Next". Click "Save".
You will now see three cohort branches. Underneath each branch you'll click the "+" sign and use the "Send email" workflow action.
Choose the "Send email" action step.
Select one of the three emails you created in previous steps.
    Click "Save"
