General site navigation bar The site navigation bar appears on top of all Moodle courses and provides links to the most useful or commonly accessed pages. Within courses, the editing toggle is visible on this bar for course admins and instructors.
Course administration bar The course administration bar stays near the top of the screen even after scrolling. It is important for updating course-wide settings and viewing course information from course participants, grades, and reports.
Course index The course index column appears at the left of all course pages. This bar is expandable and provides quick navigation for the page you are on. The headings reflect the sections within the course and new headings can be added by adding new sections.
Block drawer The block drawer column appears on the right of all course pages. The bar is expandable and shows blocks that can be pinned to the screen. Blocks are important parts of the course that academics use to include additional supporting information such as teaching contact information, attendance marking, and completion progress.
Bulk editing toolbar The bulk editing toolbar appears near the top of the course after turning on 'Edit mode'. It allows multiple activities and resources to be edited at once. To use the toolbar, select the checkbox next to available items and choose one of the toolbar's options to move, indent, delete, duplicate, and more.
Quick links Quick links are located under the course banner and redirect to useful resources or activities. It serves as a place for academics to pin content they may want to be displayed on top of the course. The default links within this section are useful links that are often requested by students, giving an idea of the types of resources academics should add there. Feel free to customize this section based on specific course requirements and resources. To add new items, select the "add an activity or resource" button located under the icons.
Course hubs and module sections Sections and hubs appear below the quick links on the course home page. Two hubs are created by default for every course: the General Course Resources and Feedback Hub allow academics to add key course resources and activities above modules for easier access to students. Consider adding all assessment details and activities to the Assessment Hub to make it simple for students to locate all key information and due dates. The topics/weekly modules appear below the hubs. Academics can use this section to add the bulk of the course material such as weekly materials and activities.
